York Restaurant Week – Delicious Meals, Discount Deals

Whether you are visiting York for leisure or business, the city offers a delectable array of restaurants to choose from. Perhaps you’re lucky enough to be a York resident and have the tastes of the world on your doorstep. There’s traditional pub food, cafes serving light bites and cakes, pan-Asian restaurants and buffets, independent little gems or large, chain eateries – we have you covered. But from 1^st-7^th April 2019 for the first York Restaurant Week, you can also get delicious food at special, discounted prices! We take a look at who is taking part…

Las Iguanas

A firm favourite for us at The Lawrance. Las Iguanas is a large chain restaurant set over two floors with an outdoor, seated balcony area. They offer a huge 2-4-1 cocktail menu and food inspired by traditional South American staples. They also have a varied vegetarian and children’s menu as well as some delicious desserts. We highly recommend the deep fried churros with caramel and chocolate dipping sauce!

Coto Vietnamese Kitchen

Opened at the end of last year, Coto is a fairly new edition to York. The food is cooked fresh to order from their small upstairs kitchen. Already a favourite amongst vegetarians and vegans for their braised tofu, fresh salads and noodle dishes there is also plenty on the menu for meat lovers too including pork summer rolls and honey-spiced chicken. Customers may also bring their own alcoholic drinks to accompany their meals if they wish.

Pairings Wine Bar

Very popular with locals, Pairings is currently rated number one amongst restaurants in York, according to Trip Advisor. It is an independent, family run wine bar in the city centre with a focus on excellent customer service and fine wines. They offer locally sourced cheeses, charcuterie or desserts alongside their ever popular ‘wine flights’. For York Restaurant Week they are offering a selection of 3 meats or cheeses plus a drink for £10.

Wagamama

A hugely successful chain restaurant, Wagamama offers a twist on pan-Asian style fast food. With dishes from all over the far east including fragrant Thai inspired curries, a large selection of noodle and soup dishes, inventive salads, children’s meals and fresh, raw juices. All food is cooked to order and will arrive to the table in the order that it is ready, not necessarily all at once. They are offering a set menu (including vegetarian and vegan options) for £15 with £3 supplement to add dessert.
