We are keeping our fingers crossed for glorious sunshine throughout June, and sunny weather is perfect for a pub crawl. Harrogate and York have lots of pubs and bars to head to for a pint or two, and sharing a drink with your dad has to be a traditional Yorkshire bonding experience! If you fancy dabbling in craft beers, Major Tom’s Social in Harrogate is definitely one to hit, along with North Bar and include some history at Hales Bar, which claims to be the oldest pub in Harrogate. If York is your weekend destination, there are plenty of pub crawl routes to choose from where you can tally up to ten pubs in one day! Everyone loves Italian food, and it is a simple way to do something different. You can dine out at one of several Italian restaurants in Harrogate and York. If your dad and the whole family are big on gin, why not treat him to a Slingsby Gin Experience at the Spirit of Harrogate store? You can choose from three tasting packages, and each one has a range of activities including a chance to sample Slingsby Gin and some of the 80 they have in store. The three packages start with the Spirit of Gin, taking you through the history of gin with a demonstration from the mixologists. The Cocktail Master gives you the chance to mix up your own drinks and learn top tips for creating the best cocktails at home. Just the Tonic is a chance to celebrate the ‘T’ in G&T where you can discover all about tonic and have experts help you find the right tonic for your tastes! The sessions are £40 pp and available to 10 to 16 guests – or you can attend open sessions on Friday evening and Saturday afternoons.
